From the Four Winds (suom. Neljältä tuulelta) on ääni Suomen neljältä ilmansuunnalta. Se on Pauliina Skarrin ensimmäinen soolonäyttely ja samalla kutsu rukoilemaan Suomen puolesta.

Näyttely From the Four Winds koostuu rukouksen pohjalta maalatuista abstrakteista tauluista jotka muodostavat installaation yhdessä päiväkirjamerkintöjen ja valokuvien kanssa. Installaatio kutsuu sinut mukaan taiteilijan syksyllä 2022 tekemälle rukousmatkalle Suomen neljään ilmansuuntaan - pohjoiseen, itään, etelään ja länteen. Konkreettinen matka Suomen ympäri oli myös matka intuitiivisen maalaamisen äärelle, jossa taiteilija on maalatessaan pyrkinyt luopumaan valmiista suunnitelmista ja olemaan avoin ympäristölle ja siitä kumpuaville ajatuksille ja tunteille. From the Four Winds on muodostunut spontaanin tutkimisen, ympäristöstä oppimisen ja hetkelle antautumisen kautta. Näin ollen jokainen taideteos heijastaa maalaus ympäristöä, kontekstia ja rukouksia kyseisen paikan puolesta. Oli se sitten vuoret Lapissa, asunto Helsingissä, merenranta länsirannikolla tai Suomen itäinen raja.

From the Four Winds is a voice from the four corners of Finland. It is Pauliina Skarr’s first solo exhibition and an invitation to prayer for the county of Finland. As you walk around, take time to pause and listen. Do you hear the Wind blowing?

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

The exhibition is an installation consisting of a body of abstract artwork born out of prayer, together with journal entries and photos. The installation invites you along to the artist's travels to the four corners of Finland - North, East, South and West - during the autumn of 2022. Besides the physical journey the artwork is also a journey of discovering intuitive painting. Each piece is spontaneously born in the moment by surrendering pre-made plans and fear of the unknown. Instead the artist has given space to explore the environment and listen to rising thoughts and feelings. That being said, each painting is a reflection of the environment, context and prayers for the place where it is created. Whether it is the mountains of Northern Lapland, the sea at the West coast, the Eastern border or an apartment in Southern Helsinki.

At its core, the exhibition ´From the Four Winds´ is a voice from Finland and for Finland, a visual prayer for this country and its people. The exhibition is an invitation and a platform for your own prayer and worship to flow out from looking at the paintings. May this place not be just an exhibition, but a space for you to pray your prayers and blessings over this country. You are invited to be still and take your time to receive and let God speak to you and through you. What message does the Wind bring you?

The exhibition is open daily from 11th of July to 23 of July. Opening hours: Mon-Sat 11am-5pm, Sun 12noon-5pm. Free entrance.
